This course provides a comprehensive study of major world religions, religious traditions, and Islamic sects from historical, theological, and comparative perspectives. It explores the origins, beliefs, doctrines, practices, and development of different religions and sectarian movements, with particular attention to their relationship with Islamic thought. Students examine the similarities and differences among various religious and sectarian perspectives and develop the skills necessary to understand and analyze them objectively and academically. The course also introduces students to methods of comparative religion and the study of sects, enabling them to engage with religious diversity and contemporary religious discourse with knowledge, balance, and intellectual awareness.
